The Gujarat SemiConnect Conference 2026 was held at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together government officials, semiconductor companies, technology firms, and industry experts to discuss the future of semiconductor manufacturing and electronics development in India.

The conference focused on strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem through manufacturing, research, infrastructure development, and supply chain expansion. Discussions during the event highlighted the growing importance of domestic semiconductor production and the need for long term industrial planning.

The inaugural session was attended by Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bhupendra Patel, along with representatives from the semiconductor and technology sectors. Officials discussed ongoing semiconductor projects and the importance of developing supporting infrastructure across Gujarat.

One of the major areas discussed during the conference was the development of industrial regions such as Dholera Smart City. Dholera is increasingly being considered an important location for future semiconductor and electronics manufacturing because of its planned infrastructure, industrial land availability, and connectivity projects.

Infrastructure developments connected to Dholera, including the Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway, the proposed Dholera International Airport, and the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, were also highlighted as factors supporting industrial growth in the region.

The conference additionally focused on semiconductor supply chains, research ecosystems, and workforce development. Industry experts discussed the importance of skilled talent, logistics support, and technology infrastructure for building a competitive semiconductor manufacturing environment in India.

The Gujarat government also presented its Science Technology and Innovation Policy 2026 to 2031, which aims to support research activities, innovation programs, and advanced technology sectors across the state. The policy includes plans related to research clusters, skill development, and technology driven industrial growth.

Several domestic and international semiconductor related companies participated in the event, reflecting growing interest in Gujarat’s industrial and electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Industry observers believe that regions such as Dholera and Sanand may continue to attract investment due to infrastructure readiness and policy support.

For Dholera, the conference represents another important development linked to the region’s industrial growth plans. As infrastructure projects continue to progress, Dholera is gradually strengthening its role within Gujarat’s long term manufacturing and technology strategy.
